GS1 Bulgaria took part in the GS1 Global Forum 2016 in Brussels



Delegation of GS1 Bulgaria, led by the President of BCCI and GS1 Bulgaria Tsvetan Simeonov took part in the GS1 Global Forum which took place in Brussels this week. 760 participants from 89 countries took part in the planned total of 45 workshops on various aspects of the implementation of the GS1 standards.
The focus of the plenary sessions was the quality of product data in e-commerce and new ways for customers to seek information about products.
GS1 Bulgaria also took part at the traditional Market Place Exhibition during which the National GS1 Organizations present current projects and solutions developed locally. GS1 Bulgaria presented the mobile application BG Barcode and the Product Catalogue. The Bulgarian stand was visited by Miguel Lopera, President and Chief Executive Officer of GS1 and Tim Smucker, Honorary Chairman of GS1 who were impressed by the functionalities of the application.
During the Forum in Brussels, the Bulgarian delegation extended an official invitation to the European representatives to join the Regional Forum GS1 Europe in October 2016 in Sofia. GS1 Bulgaria will host the event. First impressions speak of great interest towards the event and the forum in Sofia is expected to be well attended.
