Meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants of Lebanon

Gebran Bassil, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants of the Lebanese Republic, visited BCCI accompanied by a delegation of representatives of the Lebanese government and business. The President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov introduced the guests to the priorities of the Chamber and pointed out that the organization protects the equal rights of investors in Bulgaria, regardless of which country they come from.
He said that the Chamber is closely monitoring the positive development of the economic relations with Lebanon, especially with the support and participation of the Bulgarian – Lebanese Business Council, the Lebanese – Bulgarian Business Council, and the diplomatic missions of both countries. Simeonov presented briefly the conditions for doing business in Bulgaria, pointing out that the country is a source of stability on the Balkans without open problems with its neighbours.
Minister Gebran Bassil expressed the position that businesses from both countries should actively make use of the opportunities for trade, investment and cooperation.
Hassan Murad, Minister of State for Foreign Trade of Lebanon, H.E. Dr. Toufic Jaber, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lebanese Republic in Sofia, and Lebanese businessmen also took part in the meeting.
The requirements for acquiring a European origin of goods has been raised and explained at length. Additionally, the Lebanese businessmen expressed interest in purchasing a factory for the production of sunflower oil in Bulgaria.
