Invitation to a conference Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP): SMEs Perspective

The American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria and Confindustria Bulgaria have the pleasure to invite you to a one-day conference:

Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP): SMEs Perspective

The conference will take place on December 2nd, 2014, Tuesday, 9:00 a.m. at Kempinski Hotel Zografski

The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership will create new opportunities in both the United States and the EU. These opportunities will be particularly valuable for SMEs, given that trade barriers tend to disproportionally burden smaller firms, which have fewer resources to overcome them than larger firms.

In light of the past 7th round of Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) discussions, stakeholders have suggested the possibility to include a designated chapter about SME issues. Such a chapter could establish mechanisms for both sides to work together to facilitate SMEs’ participation in transatlantic trade after TTIP takes effect.

Confirmed international speakers:

  • Lori Cooper, Senior Policy Advisor, Office of European Union, U.S. Department of Commerce
  • Christina Sevilla, Deputy Assistant, U.S. Trade Representative for Small Business
  • Licia Mattioli, President of the Committee of Internationalization and Foreign Investors and Member of    the Board, Confindustria
  • Luca G. Donelli, International and European Relations/Strategic Alliances, Confindustria Young   Entrepreneurs
  • Andrea Rigoni, CEO, Rigoni di Asiago S.p.A.
