The largest wine forum in the Balkans - The Balkans international Wine Competition and Festival 2016 (BIWC), will be held for the fifth time in the garden of Grand Hotel Sofia. The event is held annually in Sofia and it involved the best winemakers from all Balkan countries.
BIWC 2016 consists of two parts:
- Wine Competition BIWC (26-27 May 2016), which will compete over 700 wines from over 100 wineries.
- Wine Festival BIWC (28-29 May 2016), which will be attended by over 40 Bulgarian wineries and over 20 wineries from all Balkan countries.
You will have the chance to taste the best wine in the Balkans .The event will be attended by nearly 2,000 people from Sofia, Bulgaria and abroad. Within the framework of the Festival the visitors will have the opportunity to taste more than 500 wines from the region.
The winners in the different categories, and the winner of the Grand Trophy of BIWC will be known in the NIGNT OF THE BALKAN WINE OSCARS presented at a special Award Ceremony and Gala Dinner on 28 May at 20:30 at Shades of Red restaurant in Grand Hotel Sofia.
The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry as an organization encouraging Bulgarian manufacturers, for the 5th consecutive year supports the Bulgarian Wine Festival initiative, confident that cooperation and contacts between Balkan companies will make goods from the region competitive at the European and world markets.
The official opening of the fifth edition of Balkan wine festival will be held on 28 May 2016 from 12:00 in the garden of Grand Hotel Sofia.
