Association of the Bulgarian – Arab Economic Chambers has been established



The President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov had a meeting with Ahmad Alaeddine, President of the Lebanese – Bulgarian Business Council and President of the newly established Association of the Bulgarian – Arab Economic Chambers.

During the conversation, the economic situation in Lebanon and Bulgaria was discussed in connection with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the related restrictions for businesses.

Ahmad Alaeddine presented some new Lebanese products and informed about the agreement reached between the Association and Sofia University for upcoming exchange of Lebanese students and their education in Sofia.

According to data of the Ministry of Economy, in 2019 an increase in Bulgarian exports to Lebanon by 64.3% was registered compared to 2018, amounting to USD 132.1 million. Imports from Lebanon decreased by 67% and amounted to USD 31.3 million.
