Bulgarian companies were invited to visit green development and investment expo in China

Delegation from the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Jiangxi Subcouncil visited BCCI and had a meeting with the President Tsvetan Simeonov and members of the Board of the Chamber.

The President of BCCI stressed that partnership with China was important for BCCI and the good relations with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China and the Commercial Section are an evidence for this. BCCI has a representative in China and this year two experts from the Chamber passed a training in the Asian country, getting acquainted at first-hand with the specifics of Chinese economy. Simeonov pointed out that regarding opportunities for business cooperation with China, Bulgaria is among the main exporters of sunflower seed and the largest producer of lavender.

The need to inform Bulgarian companies about opportunities available on the Chinese market in the field of agriculture was emphasized. BCCI reminded that with the help of the Association for the Promotion of Agricultural Cooperation between China and CEE Countries, a Bulgarian pavilion has been opened in Hangzhou, China. Deals were made as soon as the first samples were sent on the initiative and with the financial support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food. Simeonov said that on 10 October 2016, in Sofia, the Association and BCCI will organize a business seminar providing practical advice.

Liu Cui Lan, Deputy Director and Chairwoman of the Jiangxi Subcouncil listed the following sectors which have potential for bilateral cooperation: agriculture and food industry, education and technologies.

She extended an invitation to Bulgarian companies to visit the following exhibitions: World Green Development Investment and Trade Expo ( www.wgdexpo.cn ), and International Ceramic Fair (www.chinaicf.cn ).

The Chinese delegation included representatives of the Bureaus of Commerce of Nanchang, Ji’an and Xinyu, as well as business representatives from the sectors: trade, production of household appliances, and tea production.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between BCCI and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Jiangxi Subcouncil for cooperation in the field of trade and investment.

BCCI’s President presented the economic situation in Bulgaria and pointed out the advantages for investing in Bulgaria, such as the low tax rates. He also introduced the guests to the activity and structure of BCCI and the services it provides in support of business.
