Study results on the information sources used to control the intermodal transport in the region of Southeast Europe were presented by the BCCI Project Team at the partnership meeting held in Tirana, Albania on the Project „ADB Multiplatform“*. The meeting was attended by Deputy Ministers from the Ministries of Transport and Infrastructure, and Economic, Trade and Entrepreneurship.
The two-day meetings discussed details on the upcoming activities related to the establishment of centers for the development of multimodal transportation in Southeast Europe and their inclusion into the transport logistics chains in this region. In this connection, the BCCI has made-up a business plan to create a multimodal transportation centre to service companies operating in the field of transport, by offering them the most efficient combination of transportation modes, keeping shipping costs as low as possible.
The centre for multimodal transport in Bulgaria will be built by the end of the year, and its main objective is to optimize transport and reduce transport costs by introducing new control technologies for the traffic flow.

* Project “ADB Multiplatform“ was launched end of 2012 and is implemented by the BCCI in partnership with 41 national and regional public and non-government organisations from 13 countries - Bulgaria, Austria, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Albania, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia and Ukraine. The main objectives of the project cover:
- elaboration of environmentally multimodal transportation solutions connecting the ports on the Black Sea, the Aegean and the Adriatic Sea with the existing railway network and river structure in Southeast Europe;
- harmonization of the existing practices for the transportation of goods within the territory of Southeast Europe using multimodal transportation solutions;

transfer of shipments of goods from the road transport to the rail and water one in order to reduce the emissions.
