The Balkans International Wine Festival 2020 again in the heart of Sofia
The dynamic epidemiological situation requires a change in the dates of the 9th Balkans International Wine Competition (BIWCF). It will be held in the period 9 - 11 September in Belgrade, Serbia, while the traditional open-air wine festival accompanying the competition will be held in the Bulgarian capital Sofia between 17 and 19 September in the space in front of the National Palace of Culture. The residents and guests of the capital will have the opportunity to celebrate the day of Sofia – 17 September with a special toast.
The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry once again supports the Balkans International Wine Festival initiative and is convinced that the cooperation and contacts between companies from the Balkan countries will make the goods from the region competitive on the European and international markets.
The new dates of the festival will allow the trophies by categories and the grand trophy for the best wine in the Balkans and the best winery in the region to be announced just before the festive part of the festival – on 16 September. This will take place at a luxury gala dinner at the Hilton Hotel, Sofia.
In Belgrade, a competitive tasting of the best wines in the Balkans will be held, together with special master classes led by proven professionals in the wine industry, as well as the announcement of the Best of Show awards given to outstanding wineries from each country.
