Meeting with Chinese companies from the Chinese Council for Promotion of International Trade of Tianjin Province held at BCCI
At the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) a meeting with Chinese companies from the Chinese Council for Promotion of International Trade of Tianjin Province (CCPIT-Tianjin) was held. The event was opened by the President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov and Duan Yimin, Vice-Chairman of CCPIT – Tianjin.
Mr. Simeonov identified China as one of the most respected countries in the business world and as a partner to whom the interest and desire for cooperation are growing. Emphasizing the economic advantages of Bulgaria, such as low corporate tax rate, EU membership, its location along the Silk Road and participation in multilateral initiatives which include China, the President of BCCI called for deepening investment links and traditional friendship between the two countries („16 + 1“ CEEC; One belt, one road”).
On behalf of the Chinese delegation, Mr. Yimin welcomed the
participants in the meeting and the interest of Bulgarian companies in cooperation with Tianjin Province. According to his data, the Chinese market is very interested in Bulgarian wine, yoghurt and rose products, and trade turnover between Bulgaria and China, as well as between Bulgaria and Tianjin Province has been growing. The Province has one of the largest ports in the world (ranked 5th place with tonnage of 550 000 000 tons in 2016), the first Chinese free trade base and a well-developed sector for production of parts and components. Two companies from Tianjin already work in Bulgaria.
During the official part of the forum, BCCI and CCPIT-Tianjin signed Memorandum of Understanding. The event continued with B2B meetings.
The Chinese companies represented the sectors light industry, construction, production of ecological building materials, bicycles, aluminum products and photovoltaic products, urban planning, landscaping, building intelligent control systems for residential buildings, organizing fairs and exhibitions.
