Industrial production in Bulgaria increases in November for fourth consecutive month


Industrial production in Bulgaria increased by 13.2% in November last year compared to the same month in 2020, according to preliminary data from the National Statistical Institute (NSI). This is the fourth consecutive month of growth for the indicator. The monthly increase is 1.4%, according to the statistics of the calendar adjusted index.

Annual changes

On an annual basis, the growth of industrial production, calculated from the calendar adjusted data, was reported in the production and distribution of electricity and heat and gas - by 48%, in mining and quarrying - by 42.3%, and in manufacturing - by 5.5 %.

Significant growth in the manufacturing industry in November compared to the same month in 2020 was observed in: manufacturing, not elsewhere classified - by 62.7%, manufacture of computer and communication equipment, electronic and optical products - by 50.6%, printing and reproduction of recorded media - by 22.4%, manufacture of textiles and textile articles, except apparel - by 16.9%.

Change in the index of industrial production compared to the corresponding month of the previous year

The largest decrease was registered in: manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers - by 28.1%, manufacture of beverages - by 23.6%, repair and installation of machinery and equipment - by 16.8%.

Monthly changes

In November 2021 an increase compared to October was registered in the mining and quarrying industry - by 8.2%, and in the manufacturing industry - by 0.7%, and a decrease - in the production and distribution of electricity, heat and gas - by 2.6%

The NSI observes a significant growth in the manufacturing industry in: manufacture, not elsewhere classified - by 31.1%, manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers - by 16.5%, manufacture of beverages - by 5.2%, manufacture of other non-metallic articles from mineral raw materials - by 5%.

A more significant decrease was registered in: repair and installation of machinery and equipment - by 17.4%, manufacture of textiles and textile articles, except apparel - by 9.4%, manufacture of computer and communication equipment, electronic and optical products - by 3.5%, production of vehicles, excluding cars - by 3.4%.
