According to preliminary data of Bulgarian National Statistical Institute (NSI), the total turnover index in the segment of “Transportation, storage and post”, calculated on the basis of seasonally adjusted data, increased by 3.8% on a quarterly basis in the fourth quarter of 2014.
The highest quarterly growth of 9.0% was recorded in the segment of “Cargo storage and processing and services ancillary to transport.”
The “Water transport” segment and the “Air transport” segment posted quarterly decreases, by 6.4% and 2.5%, respectively.
The total turnover index in the segment of “Information and communication” increased by 3.3% on a quarterly basis in Q4, 2014.
The largest quarterly increase of 8.1% was registered in the activity of “Production of films and television programs, music recording and music publishing.”
The only activity to post a quarterly decrease was that of “Publishing”, dropping by 8.3% from Q3, 2014.
In the segment of “Other business services”, the highest quarterly increases were registered in “Architectural and engineering activities; technical testing and analysis” (up by 28.3%), “Administrative, office support, and other business support activities” (up by 18.5%).
The largest quarterly decrease was reported in “Employment activities”, at 5.0%.
In Q4, 2014, the total turnover index, working day adjusted, in the segment of “Transportation, storage and post”, grew by 21.2% compared to Q4, 2013.
The largest annual increase was registered in “Cargo storage and processing and services ancillary to transport”, at 35.1%.
“Air transport” posted a decrease of 11.2% on an annual basis, while “Water transport” dropped by 9.6% over the same period.
The total turnover index, working day adjusted, in “Information and communication” grew by 5.6% in Q4, 2014 as compared to Q4, 2013.
The largest increase was registered in “Information service activities”, at 33.4%. “Publishing” and “Telecommunications” fell by 6.4%.
As regards the segment of “Other business services”, the largest annual increases were observed in “Architectural and engineering activities; technical testing and analysis”, at 55.0%, and ““Administrative, office support, and other business support activities”, at 26.8%.
The major decreases were registered in “Advertising and market research”, at 5.5%, and “Activities of head offices; management and consultancy activities”, at 4.9%.
