1 million BGN will be granted under Operational Programme Administrative Capacity (OPAC) to strengthen the capacity of investigation authorities and to improve the effectiveness of investigation. The Ministry of Interior is the only and sole beneficiary under the Programme. The procedure provides the possibility for training of both investigating police officers and all other police authorities of the Ministry of Interior that investigate. The training will contribute to lawful investigation, the collection of appropriate for criminal proceedings evidence, speed and effectiveness of pre-trial proceedings which is required to meet public expectations for quick and fair criminal process.
The minimum project value should be BGN 100,000 but in case a project proposal of high quality is proposed, the Ministry of Interior can benefit from the entire procedure budget. The project must be implemented for 18 months.
