The relations between Bulgaria and Japan have a long history and even a brighter future. We can show their importance through joint initiatives that will symbolically mark the 55th Anniversary of the restoration of the diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2014. This was said by Minister Kristian Vigenin during the today’s meeting with the Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan,Takao Makino, who was on a visit to Sofia.
“In geographical terms, Bulgaria is far from Japan, but we feel very close to your country. For us Bulgaria is an important partner and we appreciate the role that it plays for the stability of the region”, said Vice-Minister Takao Makino.
According to the Bulgarian Foreign Minister, amidst the government's priorities is to create a good environment not only for the Bulgarian, but also for the foreign business, interested in investing in Bulgaria. "Our goal is the business to feel welcome, because the successful investments are the best advertising," said Kristian Vigenin.
Among the topics of conversation were also the relations between the European Union and Japan. As a member state Bulgaria has the opportunity to work not only for the development of the bilateral relations, but also for the development of the relations between the EU and Japan.
Bulgaria and Japan to sign memorandum on Small and Medium Businesses
Bulgaria's Ministerial Council gave the green light for the signing of a memorandum between Bulgaria and Japan in the sphere of small and medium-sized enterprises. The memorandum envisions closer ties and cooperation between Bulgarian and Japanese companies, through the respective agencies for the promotion of small and medium businesses. The two sides will engage in a thorough exchange of information relating to trade, investment opportunities, and measures taken by each of the governments to promote the internationalization of firms.
