German company invests BGN 15 mln in a modern dairy farm

A German company shall invest BGN 15 mln. in a modern dairy farm near the city of  General Toshevo, according to information from the municipality.

The construction work started in early August in the village of Krasen. The biggest project of the German company of “Pohl Agrar Company” Jsc in Bulgaria will be implemented on an area of 170 acres.

The dairy farm will comply with all European standards in terms of construction works and quality of the product. The first buildings and a water reservoir are being constructed at the moment. The capacity of the specialized farm is going to be 2000 cows. Five buildings, a milking hall and a veterinary care room will be constructed. Stables will be constructed from thermopanels and a modern filtrating system for the waste products will be build.

The dairy farm is planned to start working in January 2014 and to initially employ 30 people from the area.  The company has experience in the livestock business and uses American technology that enables the daily milk yield from a cow to reach 30 liters. The farms production will be sold on the local market. The farm should be completely finished by the end of 2015, according to plan.
