BGN 52 million will be invested in modernizing Central Railway Station Sofia in the next two years.
The name of the company that will develop a project for enhancing all the area would become clear in one month approximately. There are plans for building a number of new facilities for passengers including a connection with the metropolitan subway.
Rehabilitation is funded by EU's Operational Programme "Transport" 2007-2013. All the works should be completed within 26 months or a little more than two years.
Upon completion the buidings will meet all requirements for energy efficiency and safety.
