The EESC is hosting its 489th Plenary Session on 17-18 April to mark the end of the Presidency headed by President Staffan Nilsson and welcome a new President Henri Malosse for 2013-2015. BCCI Vice President Georgi Stoev also participated in the session.
The election session attested to the trend of growing trust in Bulgaria. Bulgarians took three new positions in the EESC BCCI Vice-President was selected a member of the Contact Group for Korea, BICA Secretary-General Milena Angelova – a member of the EESC Bureau together with the new Chairman of the Department of Agricultural Policy Dilyana Slavova.
Henri Malosse is kicking off a 2½-year tenure as head of the EU institution representing civil society. With the public increasingly at a loss to understand decisions taken by the European Union, the new president is determined to make the EESC once again a force to be reckoned with in the European debate. This is a priority, he believes, given the crisis Europe is now facing.
