BCCI participates in the International Conference on Green Industry Innovation in Oslo

On 17 April the President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov participated in the International Conference dedicated to Green Industry Innovation, which took place in Oslo, Norway.

The conference was part of the Green Industry Innovation Programme of the Norwegian Innovation Fund and was organized by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Innovation Norway, in cooperation with the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprises.

Seven beneficiary states are implementing the green industry and innovation programme: Bulgaria, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania and Slovakia. The programme is funded by the Norwegian Innovation Fund and has a total budget of EUR 100 million.

The main objective of the conference was to create awareness to the opportunities provided by the Norwegian Innovation Fund and to engage possible stakeholders in Norway and the beneficiary states.

NGOs are called upon to support companies and their motivation to preserve the environment – reduced production of waste and carbon emissions, decreased material and energy consumption per unit of output. Such is the responsibility of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and its regional structures and Innovation Council – to turn ideas into successful business models, to promote connections between entrepreneurs, science units and research institutes, said the President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov and added that various forms of partnership should be sought – study tours, match making, expert meetings.
