According to preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute the General Government Institutional Sector reported in 2019 a surplus of BGN 2 470 million or 2.1% of GDP. The surplus in Central Government sub-sector amounted to BGN 2 349 million or 2.0% of GDP. The Local Government sub-sector reported а deficit of BGN 146 million and the sub-sector Social Security Funds reported a surplus of BGN 266 million. The Government Debt of Bulgaria for 2019 is BGN 24 205 million or 20.4% of GDP.
