Customs administrations will create it systems to help citizens and business under OPAC project

On 10 April at Sofia Princess Hotel was held the launch conference under project "Strengthening the administrative capacity of the Bulgarian Customs Administration in accordance with the Electronic Customs Initiative of the European Union", funded with the support of Operational Programme Administrative Capacity (OPAC). The project is a natural extension of the efforts of Customs Administration aimed at overall improvement of the administrative servicing as a part of the e-governance and the provision of e-services. The effective implementation of activities will allow upgrade and improvement of the existing, as well as introducing of seven new information systems for the quality and fast servicing of customers. The successful implementation of the project will result in more effective state revenue collection, establishment of sustainable information system and accessible e-environment both for the customs staff and the economic operators.

The total sum of the granted finance from OPAC under the European Social Fund amounts to 2,9 million lev. The governance team has about a year to implement the activities under the project and to report the results in March 2014.
