The main priorities for the Bulgarian Chairmanship of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) have been defined

Representatives of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry took part in a special videoconference meeting, at which the Chairmanship of the Republic of Bulgaria of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) was officially opened. The event was attended by the Committee of Senior Officials of the BSEC, BSEC-related bodies and the Secretariat of the Organization. The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is heading the Business Council of the BSEC for the second half of 2025, within the framework of the Bulgarian Chairmanship.
In her address to the participants, Elena Shekerletova, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, presented the priority areas of the presidency, reflecting the vision of a prosperous and united Black Sea Community.
The main ones include:
- environmental protection and management of marine resources for sustainable development,
- cultural and educational exchange and tourism,
- regional resilience and crisis management,
- cooperation with the EU and other international regional organizations.
Under the motto "Collective Engagement in the Black Sea Region", emphasizing the common commitment to the prosperity of the region, the Bulgarian Presidency is committed to promoting regional cooperation with a focus on sustainability, cultural integration and international partnerships.
During the meeting, the calendar of upcoming events and initiatives that will be held within the framework of the current presidency was finalized. More than 50 events are planned. The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry will host some of them under the sign of its 130th anniversary. Expect more information about a meeting of the Board of Directors of the BSEC Business Council, a business event focusing on the business instruments offered by the Black Sea Bank for Trade and Development, as well as a special participation of partner organizations from the BSEC countries in the Sofia International Money Expo conference in October.
Bulgaria's presidency will last until December 31, 2025.
