The President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov met with the newly accredited Ambassador of Latvia to Bulgaria H.E. Ilgvars Klava, residing in Warsaw and responsible for the relations with several countries in the region including Bulgaria and Romania. Mrs. Anda Abele, Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission and Prof. Alexander Popov, Honorary Consul of Latvia in Bulgaria also took part in the meeting.
The Bulgarian-Latvian economic relations and the need to assist businesses in order to intensify bilateral business contacts were discussed. The meeting also focused on Latvia’s upcoming Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first half of next year.
The parties agreed to hold the traditional meeting of the EU Club with BCCI in the beginning of January 2015 at the Chamber in order to announce the results at the end of the Italian Presidency and to outline the priorities of the Latvian Presidency of the Council of the EU.
