Minister Vigenin met with the nationally represented employers’ organisations


Minister of Foreign Affairs Kristian Vigenin met with the employers’ organisations represented at national level. The purpose of the meeting was to present the new priorities of the Ministry, namely: intensification of the diplomatic missions of Bulgaria abroad, searching for new markets of development, and attracting investments. Minister Vigenin said that in order to achieve these objectives MFA has taken measures by appointing ambassadors with special assignments, as well as by creating of the “International Economic Relations” Directorate at the Ministry.

BCCI’s President Tsvetan Simeonov stated the proposals of the Chamber as regards the cooperation with the Foreign Ministry in order to improve the economic environment. He laid an emphasis on the need of economization of diplomacy, coordination of the activities of the ambassadors and the Economic and Commercial Service Offices (ECSO) abroad, information exchange between the Foreign Ministry and the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, achieving compliance of the translation services with the European standards, as well as prevention of the unfair competition in the sector and facilitating the visa policy.

BCCI expressed willingness to assist in the provision of information materials; specialized data of the Chamber’s Trade register, references about the economic environment in Bulgaria in order to help the diplomatic missions abroad.

Finally, Minister Vigenin highlighted that the efforts of the Foreign Ministry are aimed at improving the consular services, developing the foreign economic relations and promoting the activities of the Bulgarian businesses abroad.
