In the first half of 2013 (January – June) Bulgarian exports to the EU increased by 6.5% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to BGN 12.3 B. The main trade partners of Bulgaria were Germany, Italy, Romania, Greece and France which accounted for 69.5% of the exports to the EU Member States. The data was released by the National Statistics Institute (NSI).
In the first six months of 2013, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the largest growth (26.2%) in the exports of Bulgaria to EU, distributed according to the Standard International Trade Classification, was recorded in the section "Beverages and tobacco".
In the period January - July 2013, Bulgarian exports to third countries increased by 10.2% compared to the corresponding period of 2012 and amounted to BGN 10.1 B. The main trade partners of Bulgaria were Turkey, Gibraltar, Russian Federation, China, Ukraine and Serbia which accounted for 52.6% of the exports to non EU countries. In the first seven months of 2013, compared to the corresponding period of 2012, the largest growths in the exports of Bulgaria to third countries, distributed according to the Standard International Trade Classification, were recorded in the sections "Food and live animals" (58.2%) and "Machinery and transport equipment" (28.8%). The most notable fall was reported in section "Animals and vegetable oils, fats and waxes" (12.1%). In imports from third countries the largest growth was reported in section "Food and live animals" (35.1%).
In the period January - July 2013, the value of all exported goods from Bulgaria amounted to BGN 24.8 B and compared to the corresponding period of the previous year the exports increased by total of 8.0%.
