First visit of the new Ambassador of Nigeria to BCCI



H.E. Safiya Ahmad Nuhu, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to Bulgaria, visited the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry a day after handing over her credentials to the President of the Republic of Bulgaria.

The Ambassador was accompanied by representatives of the Embassy – Mercy Igyor-Uzer, First Secretary, and Farouk Sani, Liaison Officer for Bulgaria.

The President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov acquainted the guests with the Chamber’s long-standing relations with partner organizations in the African country, which are conditioned by the friendly relations between Bulgaria and Nigeria, established in the 60s immediately after the declaration of Nigeria's independence.

Ambassador Nuhu explained the goals of her mission, among which are developing the full potential of the bilateral economic relations, joining forces with the Bulgarian Embassy in Nigeria to achieve greater awareness in Nigeria about our country and others.

She pointed out that trade has increased in the last two years (by almost 40% in 2020). During the meeting, it was established that there is a bilateral interest in the sectors agriculture, ICT, mining, etc.
