BCCI and TOBB discussed joint bilateral and regional cooperation initiatives

The management of BCCI met with a representative of its partner organization – the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) – Mr. Mustafa Bayburtlu, Head of EU Department.

The President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov and the Secretary General Vasil Todorov discussed with the guest future joint bilateral and regional initiatives with TOBB. The recently held Bulgarian – Turkish Business Forum in Sofia, with the participation of ministers and more than 400 companies from both countries was reviewed. The relations with the Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce, whose management recently paid consecutive visits to Sofia and Istanbul, were also discussed.

The focus of the talks was on the upcoming annual meeting of the Association of Balkan Chambers (ABC), which will take place on 17 December in Istanbul. Günter Verheugen, former Vice-President of the European Commission, is expected to take part in the event on theme “The Balkan countries in the Programme of the European Union”. TOBB is also organizing an accompanying business forum and meetings with Turkish companies, according to the interests of the participating Balkan companies.
