Discussion of initiatives for promotion of trade and economic relations between Bulgaria and South Africa


The President of the BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov held an online meeting with H.E. Thabo Thage, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Africa in Sofia. The meeting was also attended by Mashudubele Mamabolo, Counselor at the Embassy of the Republic of South Africa, and Miroslava Markova, Chief Expert "International Cooperation and International Organizations" at BCCI.

During the working meeting, Ambassador Thage presented information on the results of his visit to Varna in February this year, as well as the initiatives planned by the Embassy to promote bilateral trade and economic cooperation between Bulgaria and South Africa.

The conversation focused on the idea of ​​organizing a larger online event with the participation of representatives of the business communities and institutions from both countries. The President of BCCI expressed the readiness of the Chamber to help organize such an online conference in September 2020.

It was agreed to organize a joint online meeting with the management of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of South Africa in order to prepare the event and mark the main sectors of interest for the business from both countries.
