The meeting was also attended by Dhoha Al-Bayati, Second Secretary for Political and Economic Affairs at the Embassy and Gabriela Dimitrova, Director “International Cooperation and International Organizations” at BCCI.

Tsvetan Simeonov informed the guests about the Chamber’s good relations with partners from Iraq and Iraqi Kurdistan. He mentioned the successful virtual meeting held  at the end of October 2020 between the chambers of Bulgaria and Iraqi Kurdistan.

Ambassador Omar said that there is great interest on the part of Iraqi companies in importing food products from Bulgaria - dairy, confectionery and bakery products.

Simeonov confirmed that the BCCI will continue its work towards expanding bilateral business opportunities, even in the current difficult conditions, and is ready to organize virtual events to present opportunities for trade and investment, as well as amendments to the economic legislation of both countries. The parties discussed the next event between the BCCI and Baghdad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which will be organized in implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two organizations in 2019.
