The conditions for doing business in Cuba were presented at the BCCI




Bulgarian and Cuban companies exchanged information and ideas for cooperation during an online forum organized by the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba.

"Possible sectors for cooperation are: tourism, trade, food industry, agriculture, pharmaceutical industry, cosmetics industry, infrastructure, and various forms of cooperation are possible: import, export, barter relations, exchange of materials, investments," said the President of BCCI Tsvetan Simeonov in his opening speech.

The Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba Ruben Ramos confirmed the readiness of the organization to contribute to the formulation of common economic goals in the relations Bulgaria - Cuba and their achievement.

The support that the forum received from the diplomats of both countries is also very important for the business community. H.E. Maria Donska, Bulgaria’s Ambassador to Cuba, shared information about the historical changes that Cuba is going through - liberalization of the private sector, strengthening of a number of state-owned enterprises. Due to the pandemic in 2020, the anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Cuba has not been officially marked and this will happen this year. She also shared that in Cuba there are two joint ventures with Bulgarian participation - in the mining industry and tourism.

The Ambassador of Cuba to Sofia H.E. Caridad Yamira Cueto Milian also welcomed the participants in the forum, emphasizing that her main goal for the past two years has been to promote and use the existing great potential for the development of bilateral economic cooperation.

The participants in the forum got acquainted with the conditions for doing business in Cuba, as well as with the opportunities that Bulgaria offers to foreign companies.
