Georgi Stoev, Vice President of BCCI and the Bulgarian-Japanese Economic Council (BJEC) met with Susumu Ueda, Counselor at the Embassy of Japan in Bulgaria and Hitoshi Hatta, Second Secretary at the Economic Section of the Embassy.
There were discussions on the bilateral economic cooperation, and in particular in the energy sector. The ongoing negotiations for free trade and partnership between Japan and the European Union were also discussed.
BJEC at BCCI supports the processes in the negotiations at expert level, and the Chamber has the expertise and has partnered with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and EU in the training programs for managers from countries in the European Union, sent to Japan for exchanging experience. So far, more than 1500 executives from the EU, including 25 from Bulgaria have been sent to Japan under various programs.
This year new training programs in the field of risk assessment and the development of human resources will be announced and BCCI will further inform its members and the regional chambers on them.
Georgi Stoev expressed the willingness of the Chamber and BJEC to continue providing full assistance to the Japanese companies that have expressed their intention to invest in Bulgaria.
