Students from Florida International University visited the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry

A group of about 20 students of Master’s and Doctor’s degree in Public Administration from the Florida International University led by Prof. Allan Rosenbaum, visited the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and met with its President Tsvetan Simeonov.

The guests were introduced to the conditions of membership in the Chamber, the system of the regional chambers, as well as to some interesting moments of the history of BCCI.

Subjects of the discussion were also the economy and the main macroeconomic indicators of Bulgaria. Tsvetan Simeonov mentioned the changes that Bulgaria needs in attracting more foreign investments. He emphasized the importance of having an e-government to alleviate the administrative services, as well as the benefits of Bulgaria’s membership to the EU.

The weeklong training of the students in Sofia is within the signed Memorandum of cooperation between the University of National and World Economy (UNWE) and the Florida International University (FIU). Their training will focus on matters related to the democratic transition and the administrative reform in Bulgaria.
