In February 2026, the total business climate indicator remained relatively unchanged compared to January, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on 27 February. An improvement was recorded in industry and retail trade, while the services sector held steady at its January level. In contrast, the construction sector registered a decline.
The year began with a four-point increase in the total indicator compared to December 2025, with all monitored sectors reporting improvement in January, according to NSI data.
In February, the business climate in industry composite indicator rose by 0.8 points, reflecting more positive assessments by industrial managers of the current business situation. The business climate in construction fell by 1.4 points, due to more cautious assessments and expectations among construction entrepreneurs regarding the present business situation of the enterprises.
In retail trade, the indicator increased by 1.7 points, driven by improved expectations for business conditions over the next six months. In the services sector, the indicator remained unchanged from the previous month. Managers reported improved forecasts for business development over the next six months, along with favourable expectations for demand over the coming three months.
