Chamber of Commerce and Industry - Stara Zagora with annual report for 2023

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry - Stara Zagora held a General Assembly of the members of the association, at which the activity report for 2023, guidelines for the current year's activity, and the organization's budget were adopted. Two new members of the management board were elected at the meeting.

The guests of the meeting were the director of the Stara Zagora Labor Agency Lyuben Georgiev, the coordinator of the Stara Zagora IT Association Boryana Peycheva, a representative of the Regional Department of Education, directors of proffesional high schools, as well as other representatives of partner organizations.

During the activity report, the Chairman of the Chamber, Oleg Stoilov, recalled the most important events that were held in the past year - seminars, trainings, discussion round tables, company events and meetings. Their main goal is to stimulate business development, as TPP - Stara Zagora directly assists in finding partners and reaching new markets. Mr. Stoilov emphasized the activity and the achieved results of the Turkish Department established at the Chamber, with coordinator Ismet Çavuşoğlu, which attracts more and more partners. Emphasis was also placed on the promotion of the investment and tourist potential of the region. The members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry - Stara Zagora regularly receive various business information. They have free access to offer bulletins and information databases. They have the opportunity to publish their business proposals in the database of the largest European business support network Enterprise Europe Network, in which the Chamber is a long-term participant. They participate in round tables and discussions on issues related to the economic condition of the region and the country and have the right to make proposals for legislative changes.

Stara Zagora's participation in last year's national youth fest in Sofia Tech Park „Hello Cosmos! Speak Bulgaria!“ was reported as very successful. The renovated copy of the Interkosmos Bulgaria 1300 satellite was exhibited. The satellite will be embedded in a monument symbolizing the space glory and space future of Stara Zagora. We are also working on an idea to build a space museum and center in our city. A large-scale Stara Zagorje participation in the next edition of Hello Cosmos is currently being organized! Speak Bulgaria!, which over 100 Staro Zagorje students with an interest in space technologies will have the opportunity to visit. The event will be held on June 25 again in Sofia Tech Park.

Oleg Stoilov emphasized the successful and long-standing partnership with other non-governmental organizations developing activities in the region and thanked them for the joint work, which benefits business, but also has a wide social effect.

At the meeting, special attention was paid to the biggest problem facing the business - the shortage of personnel with both secondary and higher education. Therefore, the Chamber works directly with the Employer's Club, the Labor Bureau, the Regional Directorate of Education, Thrace University, vocational high schools, youth organizations and the municipalities of the region. The role of the Chamber is to coordinate and support the activities of each of these parties in the process, said Oleg Stoilov. Those present at the meeting were informed of the Chamber's latest initiative for active assistance in the process of importing workers from abroad and the struggle to overcome bureaucratic obstacles from the Bulgarian institutions in this process.

The members of the association received information about the upcoming Augustiada Wine and Cultural Heritage Festival, which this year will be held on September 28 and 29, again outdoors on Antichna Street in Stara Zagora. International partner will be Serbia.

The report of the Control Board was presented by Ognyan Todorov.
