12,4% growth in Information service activities for the second quarter of 2013


Quarterly changes

According to the preliminary data of National Statistical Institute  for the second quarter of 2013 the total turnover index in section “Transportation, storage and post”, calculated on the basis of seasonally adjusted data decreased by 0.3% as compared to the first quarter of 2013. The highest drop was registered in Water transport – by 8.0% and Air transport – by 7.7%. An increase by 1.2% was reported in Land transport.

The total turnover index in section “Information and communication” increased by 1.6% in comparison with the first quarter of 2013. The most significant increase was seen in Motion picture, video and TV programme production, music publishing activities and Information service activities – by 15.3% and 12.4%, respectively.

In “Other business services” the highest increase in comparison with the previous quarter was registered in Employment activities – by 13.5% and Office administrative, office support and other business support activities – by 13.0%.

Drop of index by 17.8% was observed in Cleaning activities.

Annual changes

During the second quarter of 2013 the total working day adjusted turnover index in section „Transportation, storage and post” increased by 7.5% compared to the same quarter of 2012. This increase was mainly due to growth in Land transport (by 11.8%), while in Water transport was recorded a decrease by 23.5%.

The turnover indices in services cover the activities included in sections “Transportation, storage and post”, “Information and communication” and “Other business services”.
