Energy watchdog raises heating and electricity prices

Bulgaria's energy watchdog DKEVR decided to increase the electricity and central heating and hot water prices and to cut the natural gas price as of July 1.

On 30 June evening it transpired that DKEVR will increase the central heating prices by an average of 2.6% throughout the country – much less than the initially expected average of 10%.

Most significantly will increase the heating prices in Ruse – by 11.5%. In Sofia the heating and hot water will be by 5.9% costlier.

In Sliven heating will cost by 3.6% less and in Pernik – by almost 12%.

Contrary to the earlier expectations for lower electricity prices, DKEVR decided to hike them. For the CEZ customers in Western Bulgaria the prices will be an average of 2.78%, in Southeastern – by a little over half percent and in Northeastern – by 2.5%.

The price of natural gas for the next three months will be by 2% cheaper.
