On 21st September 2013 Desislava Terzieva, Minister of Regional Development of Bulgaria, will open a medieval festival at the Baba Vida castle in Vidin, Bulgaria, marking the celebration of the European Cooperation Day under the Bulgaria-Serbia IPA Cross-border Programme.
European Cooperation Day is an initiative supported by the European Commission which invites you to get out and meet your neighbours, joining in the fun with them at one of the many events organized across the EU that will be showcasing both results achieved and ongoing projects, bringing you and your European neighbours even closer. The festival celebrating cooperation between Bulgaria and Serbia will include a number of performers from both countries who will bring history to life with medieval costumes and armor, an exhibition of arts and crafts, medieval games, demonstrations of medieval fighting skills and even a live music concert.
The event is open to the public free of charge and will commence at 13:00. The host of the festival is the Vidin History Museum represented by its director Fionera Filipova. The guests will be entertained by the representatives of two associations for preservation of medieval arts and crafts - "Modus Vivendi" from Bulgaria and "Beli Orlovi" from Serbia, and the Balkan medieval music group "Eriney" from Bulgaria.
A special info-point will be set at the castle premises which will offer all the visitors a variety of promotional materials concerning the Bulgaria-Serbia IPA Cross-border Programme and the numerous cross-border projects implemented under the Programme.
