INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

Prime Minister Plamen Oresharski headed a Bulgarian delegation on a two-day official visit to Baku

The construction of a new megapolis in Azerbaijan will be carried out by Bulgarian companies. The project will cost several tens of billion levs and will be a good opportunity for Bulgarian construction companies, Bulgarian Prime Minister Oresharski stated after the meetings with Azeri President Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister Artur Rasizade.

The Bulgarian delegations mainly discussed in Baku the construction branch, but also touched broader business topics, Oresharski added.

President Aliyev stressed during the talks that Bulgarian companies are welcome to Azerbaijan. The President confirmed his country's interest in participating in the broadening of Bulgaria's domestic gas transmission network and the Chiren underground gas storage facility through the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) and a Bulgarian partner.

A business forum with the participation of Azeri and Bulgarian companies will be held in early June in Sofia during the visit of Ilham Aliyev.
