Honorary Diploma of BCCI for the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden H.E. Mrs. Louise Bergholm


The President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tsvetan Simeonov presented H.E. Mrs. Louise Bergholm, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden in Bulgaria, with an Honorary Diploma in gratitude for her excellent cooperation with the Chamber. This happened during an event marking the end of the Ambassador’s term of office in our country.

Simeonov reminded that a number of successful joint events, initiatives and meetings were organized, including the presentation of a study on opportunities and challenges for business in Bulgaria, conducted by Business Sweden in cooperation with the Embassy of Sweden in 2017 and 2018.

The establishment of the Swedish-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce was also supported by Ambassador Bergholm during her mandate.

According to the information from the Trade Register of BCCI, 22 companies with Swedish participation are active in the country, as well as 37 trade representation offices of Swedish companies.

Statistics released by the Ministry of Economy show that in 2019 the trade between Bulgaria and Sweden amounted to EUR 461.0 million (0.8%), of which exports amounted to EUR 262.5 million (3.9%) and imports to EUR 198.4 million (-3.1%). Bilateral trade has been growing since 2013. In the first quarter of 2020, the total trade turnover was EUR 123.1 million which is 2.2% more than the same period in 2019.
