Oras Mahmoud, Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of Syria in Sofia, visited the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and spoke with its President Tsvetan Simeonov. Ali Makin, Counsellor at the Embassy, also took part in the meeting.
During the conversation, the guests got acquainted with the activities and services that BCCI provides in support of business and the Chamber's relations with similar organizations from Syria.
The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry maintains partner relations with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Damascus, with which it signed a Cooperation Agreement in 1996. The development of the bilateral trade and economic relations was discussed, with an emphasis on the importance of exchange of current economic information for the promotion of trade and activation of the investment process between Bulgaria and Syria.
It was established that the two countries should make efforts to intensify the activity of the Bulgarian-Syrian Business Council at BCCI.
The President of BCCI confirmed the Chamber’s readiness to assist in the further development of the traditionally good commercial and economic relations between the two countries.
At the end of the meeting, it was agreed that next year - 2023, the team of the Embassy of Syria in Sofia and BCCI will cooperate in organizing and holding an exhibition-bazaar of traditional Syrian goods in Sofia.
