Bulgaria will offer Qatar exports of mineral water, as well as lamb and chicken products

A Bulgarian delegation, led by the Minister of Economy Dragomir Stoynev was on a visit to the Gulf state this week, as part of the Qatari-Bulgarian Intergovernmental Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation.

The two sides discussed the option of exporting Bulgarian honey, grains, and starters for dairy products.

Bulgaria and Qatar will most likely sign a Memorandum of Cooperation in the sphere of livestock breeding.

Bulgaria expects to sign an agreement with Qatar for the supply of liquefied petroleum gas for the purpose of diversifying the sources of blue fuel. We discussed the subject and we are satisfied with the talks we had in Qatar, said Bulgarian Minister of Economy and Energy Dragomir Stoynev. He reminded that the only gas supplier for Bulgaria so far is Russia, through Ukraine. If Qatar invests in a natural gas terminal for the Balkans Bulgaria would have a broader market, and countries like Serbia, Macedonia, Kosovo and Albania would be able to use Qatari gas, Minister Stoynev explained.
