The government adopted a decision to open a Consulate General of Bulgaria in the city of Erbil, Iraq. It will cover the territory of the provinces of Erbil, Sulaimaniya and Erhuk.
Opening of the Consulate General in Erbil is an appropriate instrument to support and further activate the bilateral economic ties, as well as an ability to better protect the interests of the Bulgarian natural and legal persons in the region.
Promising areas for the development of cooperation are energy, food industry, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, tourism and others.Leading Bulgarian companies, working in the construction and hydro engineering sector, have interest to participate in the building of infrastructure projects.
