INVEST IN BULGARIA

Bosch Engineering Center Sofia received a Class A Investor certificate

The Engineering Center Sofia, opened in Bulgaria in 2019 by the global leading provider of technology and services Bosch, received a Class A Investor Certificate. The Minister of Economy Lachezar Borissov presented the certificate to the Managing Directors of the Center Konstantin Konov and Thomas Metz. Minister Borissov pointed out the investment of Robert Bosch GmbH is another proof that Bulgaria is an attractive investment destination, especially in the field of the high technology, R&D centers and the automotive industry.

Konstantin Konov, Managing Director of Bosch Engineering Center Sofia, emphasized that exactly today we celebrate 1 year since we officially opened the Bosch Engineering Center Sofia. “During these months we have grown about 2 times and we have very serious plans to expand our investments in Bulgaria. We have proved that we are not an outsourcing company, but that we have the potential and the ambition to be the engine of the automotive industry”, he said, adding that in the Bosch Engineering Center Bulgarians are creating the cars of the future that will provide us with a safer and easier life on the road tomorrow. “For us, this is not only a goal, but also a cause that unites us and moves us forward”, commented Konstantin Konov.

The certificate is granted for the investment project "Establishment of Bosch Engineering Center Sofia" by Robert Bosch EOOD for the building of a software engineering center on the territory of Sofia Tech Park AD. The investment under the project amounts to BGN 8,729,000. The goal of the Engineering Center Sofia (ECS), presented in the project, is to become a leading IT and software global provider for car manufacturers.

Thomas Metz added that the Bosch brand has been known in Bulgaria for more than 25 years and there is a positive attitude towards it in every aspect. “With Bosch Engineering Center Sofia we added a new face to the company here: the leading mobility engineering center for automated driving, connectivity, electric mobility and artificial intelligence. One thing is sure - we will continue to invest in the development of innovative mobility solutions, but also in the development of people and the team. We will further grow by attracting and training future talents”, he said.

For the period from the opening of the Center until now, the team of highly qualified professionals has participated in the development of over 40 international high technologies projects for the automotive industry. After its contribution to the development of many functionalities, Bosch Engineering Center Sofia continues to grow, and currently the company has open positions for software engineers and hardware specialists. The company not only initiates training programs for qualified and experienced engineers, but also supports young talents in their professional development through internship programs, collaboration with universities and a dual training program.
