BCCI participates in the IOE European members meeting on 13-14 September in Brussels. The meeting is hosted by the Belgian employers – the Federation of Enterprises of Belgium. The motto of the meeting is “Europe Reloaded”.
Employers from across Europe and Central Asia urged governments to continue structural reforms to restore Europe as a “power-house” of the global economy.
Speaking for employers around the world, the IOE’s Secretary-General Brent Wilton called on G20 governments to follow up on the commitments they made in the context of the intergovernmental process. “The conclusions of the G20 Leaders Summit in Mexico in June need to be fulfilled. Business is playing its part by launching a global initiative to follow-up on the B20 (http://www.b20businesssummit.com/b20/) employment recommendations.” He called for continuity of purpose in the G20, and for employment to remain at the heart of the process as the G20 presidency transfers to Russia.
Together with the representatives of employers’ organizations from Poland, Portugal and Greece, BCCI President Tsvetan Simeonov participated today in the panel “Responses to the Crisis: Reform Processes in Member States” and presented the Chamber’s position on the topic.
