The Interdepartmental Working Group with the Council of Development organized a public discussion on evaluating the implementation of the national strategic programs and pre-accession EU programs and the consistency of the NPD: B2020 with the strategic framework at European, national and regional level.
The meeting was also attended by the President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. During the discussion the following recommendations were made: reduction of the number of strategies on national strategies if applicable, application of an integrated approach as regards the national strategies guaranteeing their mutual commitment, orientation towards expected results and contribution to social and economic cohesion at European, national and regional level, inadvisability to rely on EU funds only when funding their implementation but rather proceeding predominantly based on national priorities and needs, more direct engagement of the target groups with the implementation of the strategies besides their promotion to the public, provision of specific forms of partnership in their realization, guarantee of their sustainability, to this end provision of indicators to assess sustainability should be envisaged in the strategic documents themselves.
It was further noted that the NPD: B2020, as a long-standing National Program document for the development of the country during the next programming period and starting point for strategic programming documents was fully consistent with all objectives and priorities of the Strategy: Europe 2020.
