Almost 200 municipal projects compete for OPAC funding

Almost 200 municipalities have filed project proposals for the new procedure under sub-priority 2.2 - Competent and Effective State Administration of Operational Programme Administrative Capacity (OPAC). The deadline for application expired on Friday, 16 November. Local authorities have applied either alone or in partnership with other municipal administrations. The total budget of the procedure is BGN 20 million. The maximum project amount is BGN 90,000, so as to finance bigger number of municipalities and the projects to be implemented under a simplified procedure without public procurement tenders. "This is a great success and we are satisfied that the efforts to put in place such a procedure and the large scale information campaign throughout the country have generated results", the Head of OPAC Managing Authority Monika Dimitrova-Beecher said. She added that the procedure was a key one within the framework of the 2012 Indicative Annual Working Programme.
