Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov hosted a meeting with diplomats from Finland - Janne Sykkö, Trade Counsellor at the Embassy of Finland in Serbia, accredited to Bulgaria, and Krisi Puronpää, Deputy Head of Mission in Sofia.
The President of BCCI informed the guests that the system of the Chambers of commerce and industry in Bulgaria and Finland has many common characteristics. In addition, the two organizations work very closely with the Association of European Chambers of Commerce.
Janne Sykkö explained his mission, which is to support contacts between Finnish companies and foreign partners from the region of Southeast Europe, including Bulgaria, and added that he is especially focused on digitalization, new technologies, circular economy, sustainability.
Krisi Puronpää stated that the Finnish companies have a strong interest in the European Recovery Plan and it is expected that they will focus bilaterally on key areas of mutual interest, once the Plan is approved.
Mr. Simeonov confirmed the readiness of BCCI to assist in fostering a closer cooperation between the companies from the two countries. A joint event in the spring of 2022 with an informational aim was also among the planned tasks.
