The Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted a delegation of Korean entrepreneurs

A meeting with Korean businessmen was held at the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The meeting was attended by Ivan Stoimenov, member of the BCCI Executive Board, Kalin Damyanov, Chairman of the Bulgarian-Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ivo Mihaylov, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Korea in Bulgaria, Dr. Kwang-hee Hong, Chairman & CEO, New Korea Trading Corp. and former Chairman of the Korean Importers’ Association (2019–2022), and Joong-hyun Jough, Executive Director of New Korea Trading Corp. and former Director of International Affairs at the Association.

The reason for the meeting was the guests’ interest in establishing trade relations with Bulgarian producers and exporters. The main topics of the discussion included the options to develop bilateral trade, establish new business partnerships and expand the presence of Bulgarian goods on the Korean market.

As part of their contacts with the Bulgarian businesses, the Korean businessmen discussed specific possibilities for the export of maize, dairy products and wines from Bulgaria to the Republic of Korea. Alongside trade prospects, the Korean representatives are also exploring the investment opportunities in Bulgaria.

The possibilities for Bulgarian companies to participate in the Korea Import Expo Annual Exhibition were discussed. It was agreed that BCCI disseminates detailed information about the next edition of the event in 2027.

BCCI presented the EU Business Hub Programme for Japan and the Republic of Korea, under which European small and medium-sized enterprises can establish direct contacts with partners from the Asian countries, participating in local exhibitions with a focus on information technologies, green energy and healthcare.
