The newly appointed Ambassador of Montenegro in Sofia, H.E. Djordje Jankovic, visited BCCI and together with the Chamber President Tsvetan Simeonov, discussed the opportunities for developing the trade and economic relations between the two countries.
Besides, the meeting discussed the excellent cooperation between the two countries, characterised by visits at the highest level, but also, it outlined some untapped potential within the bilateral trade and economic relations.
In this regard, the possibilities of resuming the activity of the Joint Bulgarian-Montenegrin Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation and of holding an accompanying business Forum were also a subject of discussion.
Ambassador Jankovic gave information about a forthcoming high-level investment Conference, called ”Smart Growth, Green Future: Accelerating Investment in Montenegro”, to be held in the period 14-15 October 2025 in Montenegro. The event is held by the Government of Montenegro together with the European Commission and will focus on renewable energy sources, sustainable agriculture, tourism, transport and information technologies.
In addition, the discussion included the possibilities for developing the tourism between the two countries, the need to establish a direct airplane line between Sofia and Podgorica and the production of joint tourist packages for the tourists from the Asian countries.
