Iraqi Companies Show Interest in Cooperation in Tourism and Infrastructural Development


Representatives of the Iraqi-Bulgarian Business Council – namely, Salah Aden, Chairman, and Eng. Akram Qasim, Commercial Manager, talked with BCCI President Tsvetan Simeonov. Trifon Iliev, Chairman of the Bulgarian-Iraqi Business Council, also took part in the meeting. 

Salah Aden informed about the interest, expressed by Iraqi companies, in cooperating with Bulgarian entrepreneurs in the field of tourism and infrastructural development, and at the moment, it is necessary to build 6 million new homes for the population of the country. For two years now, the Iraqi government has been working on a Programme to simplify the requirements for making investments in residential building in the country. Efforts were put to increase cooperation between the two countries in all areas of the economy, as well as in education, tourism and culture, among others.

On his part, Mr Simeonov expressed the hope that, in their future work, the two Councils contribute to the development of bilateral trade without any intermediaries from third countries. BCCI commits itself to provide assistance in the activity of both Councils.
