The President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), Tsvetan Simeonov, met with the President of the Bulgarian-Ukrainian Industrial Chamber (BUIC), Liliya Ivanova. Gennady Vorobiov, executive director and co-founder of Netpeak Bulgaria—a leading digital and creative agency—also participated in the meeting.
The main focus of the conversation was the idea of organizing a Bulgarian-Ukrainian business forum in October 2026, dedicated to the Day of the Bessarabian Bulgarians — October 29. The parties discussed opportunities for attracting companies from the Bessarabian region, including from Odesa and Izmail, with the aim of encouraging direct contacts between the Bulgarian and Ukrainian businesses.
The core thematic areas proposed for the forum panels included agriculture, energy, transport, and logistics—sectors holding high potential for the advancement of bilateral economic cooperation between Bulgaria and Ukraine.
The Odessa Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry was identified as a key partner for the implementation of the initiative, with which the BUIC will work to attract Ukrainian companies and institutions to the event.
During the meeting, Gennady Vorobiov shared his expertise in coordinating initiatives that engage Ukrainian businesses and the Ukrainian community in Bulgaria. The discussions also addressed major administrative hurdles encountered by Ukrainian citizens in the country, notably regarding document issuance and temporary protection timelines.
The participants in the meeting shared the view that the business forum will help deepen the economic relations between Bulgaria and Ukraine, open up new opportunities for partnerships, and stimulate investment and trade between the two nations.
