H.E. Asma Babouche, the newly appointed Ambassador of Algeria to Bulgaria, visited the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and held a meeting with its President, Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov.
The meeting addressed the membership of BCCI in leading international organizations and the operation of its well-developed network of regional chambers across the country were presented. BCCI’s long-standing partners in Algeria are the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Confederation of Algerian Employers. Her Excellency was also acquainted with the favorable tax regime in Bulgaria.
Ambassador Babouche shared an interesting fact about Algeria – the country ranks first in the world in olive oil production. Algeria also possesses large reserves of natural gas and iron ore, and is a producer of high-quality dates, cement, pharmaceuticals, textiles, and more. The country has in place a Foreign Investment Law that guarantees the security of foreign investments at a state level.
It was agreed to arrange an exchange of business delegations and to organize a joint hybrid-format event dedicated to investment opportunities in Algeria.
